Welcome to our Pre-School Room The Pre-School room is for up to 21 children per day aged between 3 years and school entrance age. We have 3 key workers within the room which gives an adult/child ration of 1:8. The key workers have special responsibilities for small groups of children. They ensure that planned activities cater for all their development needs. In the Pre-School room we follow a routine that is carefully planned and designed to enable all ages and abilities to work towards the Early Learning Goals set out by Wiltshire County Council. Opportunities are provided to enable learning through formal sessions, structured play and self-initiated activities. We also prepare the older children for their big step in starting school. At meal times we like to encourage the children to use a knife and fork, help set the table, give out cups, pour their own drinks from a jug or from the dispenser. We like to encourage good table manners and social interactions, to share and take turns. The Pre-School room is a warm and welcoming room. We aim to provide the right combination of learning attitudes in a happy and fun way. This will enhance your child’s unique personality whilst providing motivation and encouragement with tender loving care.
