Welcome to our Tweenies Room
The Tweenies room caters for 12 children per day aged from 2-3 years old.  We have three key workers to look after the children and maintain the adult/child ratio of 1:4.

We follow a daily routine, with set activities and toys for each session that carefully planned to stimulate the children and enhance their learning.  These activities include physical play, both indoors and out which help develop the children’s gross motor skills and physical development.  During their time in the Tweenies, we help to prepare the children for moving into the Pre-School Room.  This is aided by our daily group activities for the children with their key worker that involves short sessions learning about colours, shapes and numbers as well as many other things.  Children are encouraged to build their concentration levels with the help of books, puzzles, shape sorters etc.  

We use the Birth to Three Matters framework for guidance and support with their planning, it covers four aspects of learning:  A Strong Child, A Skilful Communicator, A Competent Learner and A Healthy Child.  We encouraged lot’s of social interaction between children.  With our guidance, they learn to play with and respect other children’s feelings and develop turn taking and sharing skills.  The Tweenies room is a fun room with happy, contented children who develop and thrive in a stimulating environment.
